LeftHand Networks Solidifies Position as iSCSI SAN Leader

LeftHand Announces 1,500 System Deployments and Several Industry Awards

PHOENIX, STORAGE NETWORKING WORLD, April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- LeftHand Networks(R), the leading provider of complete iSCSI storage area network (SAN) solutions built using patented distributed storage technology, today announced the company has surpassed the 1,500 mark in systems deployed in mid-tier enterprise environments, resulting in a continued 350 percent year-over-year revenue growth and a 300 percent growth in North American customers.

LeftHand's significant growth can be attributed to increased market demand for iSCSI SANs within the mid-tier enterprise market. According to Bill Chambers, LeftHand Networks CEO and founder, "Many small-to-medium sized businesses have not had access to the full-featured storage environments that large enterprises have had for years. Unlike other vendor solutions that provide limited functionality to the mid-tier customer, LeftHand's distributed storage architecture enables unique scalability and data availability features that let mid-tier customers build affordable, easy-to-manage solutions for disaster recovery, server consolidation, business continuity and remote backup."

In addition to the revenue and installation milestones, the LeftHand SAN has received several awards within the storage industry for its unique distributed storage architecture. These awards include: the Info-Tech Research Group 2005 SAN Mid-Range Leadership Award, the Info-Tech Research Group 2005 SAN Entry-Level Leadership Award, and the 2005 Network Storage Conference Innovative Product Award. LeftHand Networks was also a finalist for the Data Storage Connection's Storage Industry ACE Award and Network World's "Best of the Tests."

Storage Networking World attendees are encouraged to visit LeftHand Networks in booth C28 or at the Microsoft Storage Pavilion for a demonstration of the LeftHand SAN.

About LeftHand Networks

LeftHand Networks re-defined shared network storage in 2001 with the introduction of the first full-featured IP Storage Area Network (SAN). By building a SAN with LeftHand's SAN/iQ software and the existing Ethernet infrastructure, the LeftHand solution provides all the functionality of alternative SANs while eliminating the learning curve, complexity, and expensive components. SAN/iQ -- the intelligence behind the SAN -- spreads the power of the LeftHand SAN across all storage modules using a distributed storage model. The advantages for users include simple management and unlimited, dynamic growth, no single point of failure, and performance that scales up as storage capacity grows. The LeftHand SAN is ideal for server and storage consolidation, centralized backup, and disaster recovery projects.
